A majority of IK products can be registered using the Authorization Manager. To view the incompatible products, click here.

If your Authorization Manager is not accepting your serial number, this may be because it found a wrong character inserted to your serial.

Pease see below for the most common errors:

* Typing a 0 ("zero" number) instead of an O ("o" letter)
* Typing 1 ("one" number) instead of an I ("i" letter)
* Typing 2 ("two" number) instead of an Z ("z" letter)
* Typing 5 ("five" number) instead of an S ("s" letter)
* Typing 8 ("eight" number) instead of an B ("b" letter)
* Typing a "." (point) instead of a "-" (minus), and vice-versa, is one of the most common occurrence.

Suggestions:

* When possible, please copy and paste the information.
* Cut off all the leading and trailing spaces, these are seen as 'characters'.
* Please type all codes UPPERCASE during the installation and registration process.
* Check that the Serial Number that you are entering matches with the product installed.

The Serial Number is a unique code used to identify each IK Product and for Registration purposes. It contains a combination of eighteen digits/characters organized in 3 groups of 5, 8 and 5 units respectively.

Registering this serial number unlocks any gear associated with your product, as well as any associated warranty with your product.

Example: "ATX30-xxxxxxxx-xxxxx".

You will need the Serial Number to register your IK product via the Authorization Manager or the Product Registration page.

FAQ ID: 10

The  Serial number  for your product is written on the  Registration Card included with your product packaging, inside the license envelope. For Digital Delivery items, this serial will be found inside an email received after purchase.

For a clear characters' identification, please refer to the legend at the bottom of the card.

Note: the zero can easily be identified in your Serial Number because it is crossed by a line).

FAQ ID: 340

AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix is a very accurate replica of Jimi’s most used gear. However, to get those Jimi Hendrix tones, you should play on a similar instrument, with the same pickup settings. In fact, a standard Fender® Stratocaster®* with regular single coil pickups will be perfect! In any case, AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix will also sound amazing with other guitars, delivering a very wide palette of interesting tones, but if you're after that particular signature Jimi sound then a Stratocaster® is a must.

Also, always remember to connect your guitar to the computer following the instructions explained in the AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix User Manual or quickly summarized in the AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix info page, that can be seen by clicking on the "I" button.

*FENDER ®, STRATOCASTER ® are registered trademarks of Fender Musical Instruments Corporation. The aforementioned product name is used solely as an example. Use of this name does not imply any cooperation or endorsement.

The SpeedTrainer is one of the main AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix features. It is an exciting learning tool that allows you to play along with songs, to practice your solos or rhythmic guitars or just to enjoy making music.

FAQ ID: 345

The SpeedTrainer Controls include the Open Audio button (to open an audio file), file Play - Pause buttons, the A - B buttons (for setting a loop point within the audio file) and the Clear button (to delete the loop points).

Note: The SpeedTrainer supports Drag & Drop, so audio files can be dragged from the system to the Waveform display to be opened.

When you open or drag an audio file on the SpeedTrainer you will see its waveform progressively displayed. The SpeedTrainer will be in Loading status, till the entire file is displayed in the Waveform display. When the SpeedTrainer displays the Ready status you are ready to play your file.

FAQ ID: 346

* By pressing A during file playback, the Loop Start Marker is memorized and a sign is placed on the timeline. The A button will be highlighted

* By pressing B during file playback the Loop End Marker is memorized and a sign is placed on the timeline. In this case, the B button will be highlighted.

* By pressing A and then B just after having opened an audiofile, A and B markers will be automatically placed at the beginning and at the end of the opened file, to loop the entire file.

* As soon as the B point is placed, the playback will immediately start from A, playing up to B and then returning to A until the Pause or Play button are pressed.

* Pressing Clear erases the A/B points and disables the loop playback (the A and B highlighted buttons goes off)

FAQ ID: 347

After you set the A (Loop Start Marker) and B (Loop End Marker),you will be able to make small adjustments by holding the mouse on top of the marker sign, and then dragging them horizontally. If you click on or drag the A or B markers, their position will be shown in the Time Display, located below the filename.

FAQ ID: 348

Because the audio file peak waveform is displayed as an average of the L&R channels. This means that you will see it as only one waveform, even if your audio file is stereo.

FAQ ID: 349

Zoom Out (-) and Zoom In (+) signs. Changing the Zoom Level range (x1 to x32) will allow you to expand-reduce the waveform horizontally.

FAQ ID: 350

Through the AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix SpeedTrainer, you are able to independently change the tempo and pitch of your audio file. While you are playing your audio file, move the Tempo knob from 50% to 150%. Increasing the %value will speed up the tempo and vice versa. The Tempo knob default position is 100%, at center. For example, you can extract the audio from your guitar CD method, open a file and change the tempo of a particular exercise. In this way, you can measure your progress, speeding up the track gradually, according to your actual technical skills.

FAQ ID: 352

In this case, changing the pitch of your audio file means that you are actually changing the original key of the song. So if you want to increase your transposition skills and improve you musicianship capabilities, practice your favorite artist’s songs (or your own compositions) in severalkeys. The Pitch knob adjustable range goes from –12 semitones (one octave down) to +12 semitones (one octave up), and its default position is 0, at center.

NOTE: Pitch and Tempo changes will not alter your stored A/B loop points.

To control AmpliTube in your DAW you will need to route a MIDI track to send MIDI data to your AmpliTube plug-in. Almost all DAWs can be used to accomplish this, but each will have their own unique way of doing so. Below we cover Ableton Live Lite 10, but if you need help with another DAW, or host program, please check your products user manual or check with our support team.

  1. Connect your iRig or Audio/MIDI interface to your system and launch Ableton Live.

  2. In Ableton, go to the Preferences menu and go to the MIDI sub section to set up your iRig or device for use as a MIDI device. Enable your device under both the Track and Remote fields.

Note: For the iRig Stomp I/O, select "iRig Stomp IO" as opposed to the "Port 2" option.

  3. In Ableton, create a both a MIDI track and an Audio track. The MIDI track will be used to record the incoming MIDI messages, and the Audio track will record your Guitar or Instrument input.

  4. Add AmpliTube to your Audio track.

  5. Using the created MIDI track, set the "MIDI To" field to your Audio track with AmpliTube. Once done, record arm both tracks to allow incoming signal to be recorded.

  6. Open the AmpliTube plugin and you will now notice the small red circle in the lower right hand corner illuminating with MIDI input. Right click any control and select "MIDI Learn", this will allow your MIDI knob, button, or fader to learn to this control.

  7. For more in-depth control, click the MIDI button in the lower right hand corner of AmpliTube. Here you will have control over all currently assigned MIDI controls, as well as global MIDI PC (Program Change) and MIDI CC (Control Change) controls. Program Change messages will be associated with your Presets, these can be recalled with the associated MIDI PC message. Control Change messages will be associated with parameter controls. For example, bypassing Stomp FX, controlling Amplifier parameters, or making any adjustments to your gear's settings during your performance.

  8. Once you've recorded Audio and MIDI, there will be both an Audio as well as a MIDI clip. The Audio clip will have your dry/unprocessed Audio being sent through the AmpliTube plug-in. The MIDI clip will have all of your MIDI messages. These can be edited after they are recorded. Use the Clip view's Envelope section.

FAQ ID: 1238

If you click the Preferences button on the X-GEAR (or any AmpliTube version) interface, you will see several options: Stomps Oversampling, Pre Oversampling, Amp Oversampling, High Resolution, Tempo Source: Host/Global or Preset. Enabling oversampling improves the sound quality significantly when the signal is heavily distorted. However, it will increase your CPU load. If you use high gain sounds, we suggest enabling the Pre Oversampling option.

Oversampling is enabled by default on preamplfiers, and disabled on stomps and power amplifiers. High Resolution improves the response and behavior of the Power Amplifier and Power supply stages, and it's enabled by default.

High Resolution - Enabling 'High Resolution' will improve the dynamic and musical response of the power amplifiers, at the expense of increased CPU usage. Please disable High Resolution only if your computer does not have sufficient CPU power for the current session. High Resolution is enabled by default.

Tempo Source - This option allows you to select between Host/Global and Preset Tempo source.

Host/Global - the BPM Sync Tempo source is the Host Application Tempo, (the tempo of the application into which the plugin is loaded). The default tempo is 120 BPM.

Preset - the BPM Sync Tempo is the value saved with the Preset.

    4. With this new window open, click and hold down the OPTION key and click on the GO menu at the top. You should now see a "Library" option here. If you release the OPTION key, the "Library" option will disappear.
Click on "Library" to open this folder in the new finder window.
    5. This will show you the Library folder. In here, find and open the CONTAINERS folder.
In the CONTAINERS folder, find and open the COM.APPLE.GARAGEBAND10 folder.
Inside this folder, find and open the DATA folder.
In this folder, you will see a folder titled DOCUMENTS. Open this folder.

    6. In this "IK Multimedia" folder, click on the EDIT menu and click PASTE. This should paste the "AmpliTube 4" folder that you copied. Check to make sure that all the Presets appear here.
    7. Open GarageBand and load AmpliTube 4. You should now see the Presets available from the upper-left menu.

Please note - if you add new Presets or edit any presets in AmpliTube 4 as a standalone application, you will have to repeat the process in order for the presets to appear in GarageBand.
