As part of the Dolby Audio Room Design Tool for Atmos mixing, the iLoud MTM Immersive Bundle is popping up all over the world as the most affordable pro solution for engineers diving into mixing immersive music.
We met up with Mixer Ross Newbauer (Christina Perri, Quarters of Change, Train) at their home studio in Los Angeles. You can see how easy it was to fit IK's immersive bundle in the space and deliver the exact pro results that are required of Atmos mixers.
I love the MTM's for the amount of low end they pack at low levels for such a compact speaker.
Ross relies on the iLoud MTMs to give the best mix translation and the included ARC room correction software allows mixing Atmos perfectly with the point-source sound integral into the MTM design.
About Ross Newbauer
Ross Newbauer is a Los Angeles-based mixer and producer. Engineering and mixing since age 13, Ross started in the family basement with Ableton 7, Reason 4 and a few cheap mics. At 18, the young artist graduated to running a studio in hometown Cleveland, OH — a large one-room studio within a refurbished, 115-year-old school gym — tracking everything from indie rock to trap.
Soon after, Ross engineered for accredited mixer Joe Zook, and together worked on music for artists such as AJR, Alessia Cara, OneRepublic and more. Currently residing in Los Angeles, Ross's studio is equipped with Dolby Atmos, a collection of outboard and mics, and fun synthesizers and sequencers.
Hear some of Ross's Atmos mixes on Apple Music and stereo mixes on Spotify.
