Grand Piano Y7 は、80年代後半に日本の浜松にて製造された、ヤマハを象徴するグランドピアノ Yamaha C7 を IK 自社開発のサンプリング・ロボットで精密にサンプリングしたピアノ・モデルです。C7は、フラッグシップ・モデルの CFX に次ぐ、Conservatory シリーズ（C シリーズ）の2番目に大きなピアノです。汎用性が高く、そのパワフルな表現力と音色の明瞭さはコンサートホールを支配し、繊細で反応の良いタッチはレコーディング・スタジオにも最適です。

Grand Piano Y7 は、熟練の調律師によって入念に調整された Yamaha C7を、IK 自社開発のサンプリング・ロボットで各鍵盤をサンプリング、正確で一貫した録音を実現しました。自然な鳴り方とリアリズムを実現するため、ラウンドロビン・サンプルを収録し、本格的な演奏体験のために、鍵盤とペダルのノイズもクロマチックにキャプチャーしています。

ピアノの収録は、イタリアはボローニャ、15世紀の修道院の壁に囲まれた歴史のある Fonoprint スタジオにて行われました。このスタジオは、90年代からポップ、プログレッシブ、シネマティック、そしてクラシック音楽を生み出す象徴的な場所で、ボチェッリやモリコーネもこの場所で作業を行いました。収録に使用したピアノは、スタジオの常設楽器です。

サンプリング時は、クローズ・マイキングに DPA、Blumlein 方式で2本の COLES

Grand Piano Y7 は、リアルな演奏体験だけではなく、Pianoverse ならではの空間ジェネレーターやクリエイティブ・エフェクトにより、サウンドのバリエーションは無限です。毎回、新たな発見のあるサウンド・デザインの旅を楽しむことができるでしょう。
