iRig Keys I/O now controls GarageBand and Logic Pro

Free plug-in for macOS enables control surface integration

A new plug-in is available free of charge for iRig Keys I/O and macOS® that enables control surface integration for GarageBand® and Logic Pro® X. This allows users to control the main functions within popular music production software from Apple using the buttons and knobs on either the 25 or 49 key versions of the only compact keyboard controller currently available with a built-in high definition audio interface.


A new plug-in is available free of charge for iRig Keys I/O and macOS® that enables control surface integration for GarageBand® and Logic Pro® X. This allows users to control the main functions within popular music production software from Apple using the buttons and knobs on either the 25 or 49 key versions of the only compact keyboard controller currently available with a built-in high definition audio interface.

Using the touch-sensitive knobs and buttons on iRig Keys I/O this allows users to control functions such as: transport control with play, record, fast-forward and rewind buttons; moving the play head forward or backward via the data knob; looping on/off by pressing the data knob, and rotary knob control of the main parameters for effects and instruments in Logic Pro X and GarageBand.

The plug-in for macOS that enables the control surface integration for GarageBand and Logic Pro X is available for download to registered users free of charge in their User Area on the IK Multimedia website.  After installing the Control Surface plug-in on a Mac, users can easily control Logic Pro X or GarageBand functions directly from their iRig Keys I/O.
