iRig HD 2: "Packed with features!"

Bass Musician Mag's review of IK's new guitar/bass digital interface

"For the longest time, the IK Multimedia iRig HD has been a staple for the mobile musician. Coupled with your phone, the iRig HD turned anyplace into the perfect practice area, or recording environment. Just released, the new iRig HD 2 continues the tradition by adding some features that make the interface ideal for the performance arena as well...And to make sure you get the most out of it, the software included is massive. The iRig HD 2 immediately becomes indispensable...and is easily going to become invaluable for not only the recording musician, but the performing one as well."

Here are some quote from the review of iRig HD 2 from Bass Musician Mag:

“For the longest time, the IK Multimedia iRig HD has been a staple for the mobile musician. Coupled with your phone, the iRig HD turned anyplace into the perfect practice area, or recording environment. Just released, the new iRig HD 2 continues the tradition by adding some features that make the interface ideal for the performance arena as well.”

”One of the biggest additions to the iRig HD 2 is a 1/4″ amp out jack, with switchable output (FX and THRU). This allows you to take your entire pedalboard digital…the addition makes it the most convenient option for musicians. A newly included headphone output with preamp and level controls is also included, for those musicians that are going to use the iRig HD 2 with an iPhone 7 (which it is ready for!).”

”The iRig HD 2 also comes with a microphone stand mounting clip and velcro strip, to allow you to put it wherever you require. And to make sure you get the most out of it, the software included is massive; the AmpliTube 4 for Mac/PC, AmpliTube for iOS, and four additional gear models that are unlocked in AmpliTube for iOS upon registration.”

“Plugging in the iRig HD 2 was a piece of cake. I could run any of the sounds from AmpliTube for iOS into GarageBand, and by using the 1/4″ jack, I was also able to run the signal straight into a DI box. While this may seem counterintuitive to some, when you’re in a completely ampless setting and are relying on the sound man for everything, something like the iRig HD 2 immediately becomes indispensable as you finally have some control over your sound.”

“Now, with more features geared toward performance, the iRig HD 2 is easily going to become invaluable for not only the recording musician, but the performing one as well.”
