A treble booster model.

For those who don't know, a treble booster isn't an equalizer, it's the earliest form of an overdrive that mainly affected the high end, thus the name. Just about every great classic rock and early metal tone owes something to a treble booster. Notable users include Brian May, Ritchie Blackmore, Tony Iommi, David Gilmour, Jeff Beck, Clapton, Judas Priest, Marc Bolan, Rory Gallagher, etc. It's a sound that you really can't get with a normal overdrive pedal. Logic Studio actually has a halfway decent model in the Pedalboard plug called the Hi-Drive, but I'm quite sure IK could do a much better job. No one else is really doing this, and it's a sound that's as integral to 60s and 70s rock and metal tones as anything else.

I'd buy it for sure!

What's your favorite treble booster pedal?
Any classic pedal that is particularly classic and note worthy?

They're all fairly similar, but I'd say the Dallas Rangemaster is the most popular. Here are the most common, and who used them:

Dallas Rangemaster: Tony Iommi, Marc Bolan, Clapton, Brian May, Rory Gallagher, Hendrix
Hornsby Skewes: Martin Barre (Jethro Tull), Richie Blackmore
Colorsound Power Boost; David Gilmour, Gary Moore
Colorsound Overdriver: Jeff Beck

If you can't find an original, there are a lot of boutique effects guys making Rangemaster clones these days, like:

Analog Man: Beano Boost
Scott's Crispy Cream: Crispy Cream Booster "G" Version
Robert Keeley: Java Boost

BSM makes clones of just about every treble booster ever made, and a few original designs.

Cool. :D

You know what would be really cool? From what I understand they're very simple circuits... maybe you could model them all, and have a selector for which circuit to use? More bang for the buck!

+1 for needing a treble booster. My Vox Tonelab SE has one on it and I use it all the time, it can really add some teeth. And yea I haven't found anything else on amplitube to work quite like it. The one on the Tonelab is modeled after a Vox VBM-1 supposedly.

Being a big ol' Martin Barre fan, I've love to slap a "based on Hornsby Skewes" in front of the "HiAmp" model, and try to dial some of his tones in ....

That said, if a few "based on Laney" amp models found their way into the custom shop, that would be an ideal moment to roll out a "based on Dallas Rangemaster" stomp alongside them .... 8-) I guess that would be more applicable to doing the Iommi thing with models of earlier Laneys; I don't think he uses a treble booster anymore with his present rig ... though I think he still has the weird and obscure Tycobrahe Parapedal wah in there. Now that would be a fun thing to include in Amplitube. 8-)

And on the subject of "weird and obscure" as well as Coloursound, it would be awesome to have a Coloursound wah model. I've always loved the wah madness produced by Dave Brock on Hawkwind's Space Ritual album, and according to the interesting little read at http://www.starfarer.net/storyofwah.html, this was a Coloursound wah/fuzz/swell pedal (among other things, probably into a 100w HiWatt stack).

Right, having now fully revealed my unhealthy love for '70s British heavy guitar tones, I'll leave it at that! ;)

I've tried thinking about how to do a treble-booster-like thing with present Amplitube kit by messing around with the tone settings on overdrive stomps or with the EQ stomps, but the truth is that I haven't got enough experience with real treble boosters to have a good feel for what they do. :? And those mentioend approaches might well not work anyway!

+1 on this. Have been after something to get that Iommi Dallas Rangemaster sound in Amplitube for years now. Would be a very welcome addition
