Congratulations on the new release, and the involvement of such a major artist!!! May this be the first of many. I would like to ask, and I hope you are in a position to answer, should this be seen as the beginning of an official endorsement of Marshall amps and products going forward? I know you have the "Based On" items, but it would be awesome to see the amp model list get as deep and varied as the Official Fender has, and while I do like your logo, I would rather see "Marshall" on a Marshall amp. Since there are no skinning options for AmpliTube, I'm at the mercy of the wait for you to swap them out for new ones with that iconic script.

Great work on all the new models! The Sweet Child O' Mine preset sounds perfect on my Les Paul. I may not have Slash's fingers, but that is definitely his tone. And I'm very happy to have the MXR stereo chorus to add to EVH and Randy Rhoads presets.

Soooo, what's next ? ;)

Check out this little nugget of info from the Slash product page:

Before we get to the impressive array of Slash’s gear that’s included, a quick true story.

Slash is an AmpliTube user since the beginning. He’s used our studio versions for years on countless records both in tracking and post production roles. He also was an early adopter of the AmpliTube iPhone and the iRig. We didn’t know this until our interview, but many of the musical ideas you hear on “Apocalyptic Love” were first recorded on the road in various hotel rooms in the wee hours of the morning using an iRig and AmpliTube for iPad. No kidding. You can listen to him talking about it in our exclusive interview [here].

Now that you know he truly is a “user” of AmpliTube and not just an endorser (we don’t actually have “endorsers” for our products… all of our artists are active users and community supporters), you should get a better appreciation for what it is — pure Slash tone. Apocalypic tone. And now it can be yours.

Please don't forget to give your IK apps a 5 star rating on iTunes!
Don't you think the first and only Marshall amps for your iOS device deserves it? ;)
(P.S. You will make Slash happy!)
Thanks! 8-)

I think you are far from the only person to be wondering about these things! 8-) I doubt we'll have any real answer until/unless something very official is indeed worked out and in fact released, either!

That said, even the "based on" Marshalloid stuff would not suffer from some upgrades. Especially the models of early, non-master-volume amps especially feel a bit funny with their artificial pre-amp and power-amp subdivisions. (While it's fun to play with swapping components around, it makes it difficult to know how to dial in "historical" settings.) Some more dedicated plexi- and metal-panel models in Super Lead and Super Bass variants, as well as probably Marshall Major, JTM 45, and Bluesbreaker models .... some of these would continue to benefit from the options to play with power tubes -- KT66 vs. EL34 vs. 6550, etc. -- in order to capture the mad variety found in early Marshalls in more of their wild glory, so even if the current models' pre-amp vs. power-amp subdivisions are scrapped, perhaps some kind of valve-swapping feature could be retained (in preference to some horribly bewildering array of slightly -- yet, in terms of guitar amp geekery, significantly -- varying Marshallesque models).

What, no JCM 800 in that list? :o
For me, that's always got to be at the very top, along with a pre-master volume 1959 MKII. Plexi is nice too, of course.

But if you could only have one Marshall amp, what would it be?

Heh, the JCM 800 is really such a workhorse that I forgot to mention it specifically!

Hmm! Solid workhorse though the JCM800 is, I'm inclined to say a relatively early "metal-panel" #1959 non-master-volume Super Lead ... early '70s, maybe '71-'72. Not that I've ever played through one :? but based on what I read -- and what I hear from example -- they seem run a little gainier, brighter, and more aggressive than the "classic" late '60s plexis, but not as bright and gainy as they got on the eve of the switch to master-volume models. This would be rather like the existing Vintage Metal Lead, though more accurately modelling its "non-master-volumeness", etc. Equally, it should in theory be reminiscent of the AFD100 in "AFD" mode, as that itself seeks to physically emulate an amp of the type I describe modded with the extra pre-amp gain stage .... so maybe I need to play some more with the AFD100 to discover whether that is the only Marshall I need :) ... for guitar.

Since I'm as much a bass player as a guitar player, I feel I should be entitled to choose one dedicated Marshall bass amp as well :D and that would be an early '70s #1992 non-master-volume Super Bass. (Though this amp is also used by guitarists.)

After all, as I'm using a digital amp model anyway, what need have I for a master volume control!? I can run the thing as "hot" as I want. 8-) I always dial the attenuator on the Orange Thunderverb 200 off, as well.
