Groundbreaking new products and amazing announcements received a raving response from musicians, press, NAMM members and retailers throughout the 2005 NAMM show. True to IK’s dedication to Musicians First, a revolving door of top recording and performing artists came to the booth to give rockin’ performances, demonstrating the sonic power of IK’s newest products. Huge audiences gathered around IK’s main stage to see an unprecedented amount of news announcements with compelling product demonstrations, and impromptu artist appearances, that stopped convention traffic.

The show started off with one big surprise announcement after another. The unveiling of AmpliTube® 2 had jaws dropping to the floor. With so many musicians visiting the booth to share their love of AmpliTube®, seeing such a dramatic evolution of the plug-in, now featuring 20,000 possible amp combinations, configurable vintage stompbox pedal boards, cabinet and mic modeling and so much more, received a rave response. To top it off, IK’s announcement and preliminary demonstrations of Ampeg® SVX, the first bass amp plug-in done in cooperation with the industry leader in Bass amps, Ampeg®, had everyone in a fury of excitement that generated a big buzz throughout the show.

A big announcement was also made in the “Sound Workstation” plug-in range of products IK and Sonic Reality have been cooperating on since the announcement of their strategic alliance in 2003. The unveiling and preliminary demonstration of Miroslav™ Philharmonik™, the powerful orchestral workstation based on the legendary orchestral and choir sample collections of Miroslav Vitous stood out amongst other orchestral products announced at the show. The beautiful and unique sound of Miroslav samples mixed with Sonic Reality programming and IK’s sample technology all playable from an intuitive classical-oriented interface and coupled with a dramatic decrease in the price for a high end symphonic collection made Philharmonik™ a mega hit at the show. In addition, show visitors were treated to a preliminary demonstration of Studiophonik™, the first studio instrument workstation that puts “every band in YOUR studio”. To top off the exciting the major news on “Sound Workstations” the official launch of Sonik Synth™ 2 NOW SHIPPING had many musicians wanting to leave the show to go to the nearest store and take it home after hearing thousands of sounds first hand or from top musicians coming by to try the product out in front of huge crowds.

IK’s major news announcements kept coming one after another with significant updates made to classic IK products such as SampleTank® 2.1 which is a free software update coming for SampleTank® 2 users giving an all new enhanced STRETCH™ engine, double the amount of outputs, split and velocity ranges and an upgradeable larger sound set on 2 DVDs plus the highly requested stand-alone format. For every guitarist on any budget who owns a computer, IK’s new AmpliTube® Live/LE gives powerful amp combinations with effects and a tuner to every Mac and PC as a stand alone or multi-format plug-in for an incredibly low price. High-end users of Digidesign’s Pro Tools were pleased to hear the announcement of IK’s classic analog mastering suite, T-RackS® now working in TDM™ for another level of integration with Digidesign systems.

The buzz around the IK Multimedia booth and product announcements even made its way to California’s KNTS radio, as well as the online Inside Mac Radio, click here to listen to the live NAMM broadcast by Daniel East from January 22.

Groundbreaking new product demos, artist jams, and celebrity visits, kept the IK booth crowded at all times during the four days of NAMM. But even more magic happened by night, as IK teamed up with other sponsors for a one of a kind Galaxy of Rock Stars Concert (link to Galaxy page).

It has really been the best IK NAMM show ever!
