Skinner Bros create the soundtrack for Adidas video ads using T-RackS 3 and AmpliTube 2 
UK-based music composition and production team, brothers Adam and Dan Skinner, have built themselves an enviable reputation for creating first class, cutting edge audio soundtracks for global brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Audi and Coors. We recently spoke to Adam Skinner about his new project with Adidas: "Our brief for writing the music for 'The Spark' campaign was to create an epic and cinematic movie trailer piece. IK Multimedia's software was an essential part in creating this sound." "The bass guitar's role was to add energy and drive the action along, so we needed to create a really biting and dynamic sound. We routed the bass through Ampeg SVX and used the driven SVT-CL amp with the 810 cab and added a pinch of overdrive to dirty up the sound a bit more, which really brought the bass to life." "The electric guitars were used mainly to reinforce the bass line and to add some top end to the texture so we double tracked the guitars and fed them through two sets of amps in AmpliTube 2 which gave us a nice raw sound which complimented the bass." "Drones and pads were a fundamental part in creating the ambience of the films and so we wanted to create something unique and dark to portray the mood of the piece. We merged together synth and orchestral pads with reversed guitar feedback which we then fed back through AmpliTube 2, automating the distortion levels to create a moving, organic sounding ambience." "While mixing, we like to add T-RackS 3 to the master bus as soon as possible to have complete control over how the track reacts to volume and dynamic changes. In this instance we used the vintage EQ to add a little character to the top end, the 670 compressor to create a bit of movement and to gel everything together, and finally, the brick wall limiter which enabled us to make the track as loud as possible without compromising the quality of sound; essential for this style of music."
