Grammy® Winning Engineer Ron Taylor on IK products.Expansion Tank™: “One very powerful feature relates to loops. Many of the Expansion Tank™ modules are loop based… I knew that I could play these loops and select the "sync" button and they would (regardless of original tempo) conform to the tempo of my Pro Tools® Session. In the wonderful and mysterious "Sliced" folder of this collection ("Tony Mason" in this particular case), I found 2 more folders labeled "MIDs" and "Slices". All of the loops (as well as variations) had been sliced up to their component beats and mapped consecutively across the keyboard. The "MIDs" folder has a MIDI file to go with each set of "Slices" that replicates the original feel. As a Pro Tools™ tweakhead who can NEVER leave well enough alone, I have spent countless hours slicing up loops to do my bidding (changing the kick drum pattern, creating snare fills, de-shuffling, etc.) only to find I need the tempo a few BPM faster and have to re-synchronize everything. Those days are gone forever. The loops in Expansion Tank™ come pre-sliced. I can play the bits myself or move MIDI notes from the included files. The loops do my bidding. If I need to change the tempo I need do nothing more than change the tempo and, voila, my rearranged loop follows without complaint or any extra effort on my part. Bonus- if I put the same "Slices" preset on different MIDI channels I can put reverb on just the snare hits of a loop, or different ambiences on any of the components. Or put the snare from one loop as the backbeat to another. Very cool...”.
T-Racks®: “I have to say that I am totally knocked out by the T-RackS® Mastering Suite - it’s like having a rack of the coolest analog mastering gear literally at your fingertips. And much more compact! When I give a reference CD of a mix or a rough to a client I need it to be able to compete with the commercially released CD’s that have been mastered by the big boys. With T-RackS® I can make my mix MUCH LOUDER yet still retain most of the PUNCH I spent so much time mixing into it. T-RackS® has permanently replaced the well known plug-in limiter I formerly used; compared to the way T-RackS® retains my transients, those other plug-ins just don’t cut the mustard...”

Brian “Brain” Mantia, Californian drummer and music composer, has performed and recorded with artists as diverse as Tom Waits, Jon Hassell, Godflesh, Giant Robot, showing a verity of different styles but always keeping his own feeling in playing.
From 1996 Brain has been playing with Primus in famous releases such as the Brown Album which showed a new, funkier sound and Rhinoplasty which bring them on a world tour for a year.
Since 1999, Brain has joined Guns n’ Roses substituting the previous drummer Josh Freese. Throughout 2000, Brain recorded drum tracks for the new GN'R album. He also performed at this year's two shows in Las Vegas and at Rock In Rio 3 and he has confirmed that he will support the upcoming tours. On March 3, he appeared at a Les Claypool benefit gig with Buckethead.
